Current Summer Trend: Neons, black, & whites

Summer is all about whites, beiges, and neutral colors galore. But what about adding a touch of neon to the black/white palette we all adore? Blogger, JNELV, creates this cautious concoction with a simple, yet stylish recipe. Always standing out with a splash of neon greens and yellows that help to finish put the look together. Nothing screams summer-time fine like bright colors that attract attention with something more subtle underneath to help balance out the radness. What do you think? Will you be trying out this fashion trend this summer?

Summer is here!

Summer's hot heat is perfect to switch up the wardrobe to more lighter materials in clothing and color. What better way to incorporate this than to pair your summer whites, bold prints, and natural colors to complete the perfect outfit. Don't forget to pair your neutral accessories to complete this look into an easy, cool fashion statement. Nothing says summer, like a closet full of clothes ready for summer picnics, gatherings, or just a girls night out on the town.

This week's Daily Duo

Featuring this week's newest Daily Duo female model, Karmay, of Chinese ethnicity, but American nationality has been gracefully modeling for only the past year and a half as she was introduced to modeling when asked to be a model for a classmate's school project. Born in California and signed with Esee models, Karmay currently lives in New York where she is trying to make the most of her modeling career. Although she may not have many years of modeling experience behind her belt, she has already had the opportunity to shoot for China and Hong Kong editions of Harpers Bazaar and has walked for designers such as Timo Weiland for fashion week. Even though, she still may be a rookie, her modeling future is looking very, very bright.

Magical Realism featured in the NY Times

Benjamin Alexander Huseby uses the beautiful model, Anais Mall, to create a simple yet effortless, chic look centered around cinched waists, unfussy pants and just the right amount of skin. These are key looks, perfect for summer, which are featured in the pages of the NY Times T Magazine. The imagery behind the wardrobe is also so cleverly setup with its lush tropical backdrop and faded colors that add to the magical realism of this elegant summer style. Vanessa Traina's particular sense of styling provides the main fashion focus for Mall's wardrobe. The selection of Givenchy, Christopher Kane and Prada look stunning on Mall and provide the perfect wardrobe for a carefree summer day.

Donna Karen Haitian Exhibition in Miami

The "Discover Haiti Exhibition" is currently running at the Little Haiti Cultural Center and will be ongoing for the next 2 months.
What is the "Discover Haiti Exhibition"?
It all started with Donna Karen appropriately flashing a handbag of hers that is as unique as the well-known designer herself. What makes it special is the material it is made of, paper-mache; the handbag represents Haiti's handmade carnival masks. The Little Haiti Cultural Center exhibition is full of art, accessories, and furnishings especially crafted by Haitian artisans. These creations are then sold by Karen's Urban Zen Foundation. Karen started this foundation after the death of her husband in 2001. She then focused the exhibition on Haitian culture after the earthquake a few years later.
"She understands what we as a people, what we as a government, want to do with our art: show the world the riches of Haiti and commercialize it," said Haiti's consul general in Miami, Francois Guillaume. "But, we don't want to lose our identity. We don't want to lose whatever it is that makes Donna Karan like Haiti that much."
