THE FASHION IN ME

THE FASHION IN ME

I have never been a Fashion victim yet I do pay attention to the new trends every season, my way of keeping up with this ever-changing industry.
Due to the state of the economy I have been doing a lot of shopping…. Yes a lot of shopping… in my closet…you heard me…. my closet…and I have come to realize that I’m a classic dresser with a little touch of trendy. What does that mean? It means that most of my pieces are classic pieces but I have always manage to bring a little trend in to it with my own style... That is what fashion is all about.... Taking what's out there and making it your own.

What is Fashion?
Fashion is a form of free speech; it’s a form of nonverbal communication.
What we wear and how and when we wear it, provides others with shorthand to subtly read the surface of a social situation.

After studying the Fashion Trends for this season this is my forecast.

My first trend: “Mother Earth” with rich earthy colors (inspirations come from Africa, Aboriginal and Native American) linen in its natural state, rumpled fabrics, crunchy textures, fringes, raffia, embroidered, sexy patchwork, weeds, grasses and shells.

My second trend: “Simplicity” well tailored lines, lace, translucent materials that reveal shapes and structure but does not compromise sophistication.

My third trend: “Your Treasures” combining the old with the new, vintage pieces, distressed leather, your grandmothers jewelry, lots of jewelry, pieces with history.

My forth and last trend” Bloom” bright and energized floral colors and print that evoke optimism, vintage with a hippie spirit, bright yellow, orange, invigorating green and rich violets.
The use of these colors come at the perfect time…challenging times and the need of hope and a new beginning.

For others you are what you wear… but always remember that Fashion is a form of free speech.

So I will continue to shop in my closed looking for the Fashion in Me!!!!!
